on behalf of the Officers, Adult Instructors and Cadets of the Sixth Battalion, I take this opportunity to welcome you to our website. The Sixth Battalion has sought to engender in our members the attitude of a ‘servant leader’ which the objectives of the Force, as set out by our founder, then Major, Colonel Michael Ralph deCordova and his team, has epitomize in its entirety the true meaning of service and duty to our Country. Consequent to this fact we stand firmly on the five pillars of DRILL which stand for :-
“DISCIPLINE; REGIMENT; INTEGRITY; LOYALTY; LEADERSHIP”
These five pillars form the full existence of the cadet core not just within our Battalion lines but within the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force, and as such we implore our Officers, Adult Instructors and most importantly our Cadets, to stand by this notion; not just during their cadet years but throughout their entire life. Our nation and by extension the world have benefited from the efforts of our Cadet Force in the molding and shaping our members into young professionals whom are equipped with leadership and administrative skills to be executed in the working world. With this in mind, I and my fellow cadets ( both adults and students) are proud to be a member of this battalion and by extension this noble institution. Therefore, I urge you cadets (both past and present), parents and well-wishers to support the cause of our Battalion and our Force in contributing positively to nation building.
Parents, uncles, aunts and other caregivers who allow your child, nephew, niece or child that you have been entrusted with, to continue serving; we appreciate you and your efforts as all of this would not have been possible without you. It is because of you why we as Officers and Adult Instructors have a purpose in this Force. Though at times the task may seem difficult, we are privilege to have been entrusted with the care and well being our your child or the child under your care. The Officers, Adult Instructors and Cadets of the Sixth Battalion salute you in your efforts and do hope to receive your continued support and consideration in allowing us to execute our duty to your child and by extension our nation and the world.
To our Officers, Adult Instructors and Cadets of the Sixth Battalion, I am proud to be your Commanding Officer and I promise to stay true to my duty in leading you to victory in all aspects of service in this Force. I charge you however, to take onto yourself the five pillars of DRILL that is DISCIPLINE; REGIMENT; INTEGRITY; LOYALTY; LEADERSHIP and let this guide your efforts in everything you do whether in executing your cadet duties or in your personal life.
Finally, the Sixth Battalion will remain resolute to the cause of nation building through servant leadership and as such do encourage our members who continue to give of their time and energy, your service is not in vain.
